Are you serving on His mission field? (Part 3)

Hey everyone,
I hope you are all doing well! I want to share a Bible story that you most likely have heard at some point. In Judges 7, the LORD allows us to read about Gideon's army.  I want you to remember that Gideon is the man that wanted to absolutely make sure God wanted him to do the job.  God did, and He showed Gideon that, through many things that Gideon asked.  I think this is so cool.  Now you will have to read Judges 6-8 to get the full story but here is a brief overview....
When Gideon knew God wanted him to do the job of saving Israel from the Midianites, a bunch of men were going to help Gideon with his mission.  Well God told Gideon that he needed to get rid of some of the men because there were too many.  So Gideon did as God told him to and told the people that anyone that was fearful could go back so 22,000 left.  There were only 10,000 people left now.  But God came back and said again that there were still too many people.  So Gideon took the people to the water like God told him to and said all the people that got on their knees to drink by lapping the water like a dog was to go home and the ones that put their hand to their mouth to drink got to stay.  Well only 300 put their hand to their mouth so only 300 stayed! Well of course the Midianite army was much much larger than 300 people! But God told them that HE would deliver them so they went and did just as the LORD said and the Lord did just as He said and He delivered them! Now you need to go read the chapters to find out the rest of the details! :) But woah....God wanted to show the people that it was HIM that was fighting for them...it was not them.  You see we can't do anything without GOD! We would not be here without God, He created us.   This true story is so amazing and it shows us that God is who delivers us and helps us every step of the way.  No matter what or where God calls you to serve Him, He will prepare you and help you every step of the way.  You see it is not our mission field...it is HIS mission field and HE allows us to serve HIM if we have first accepted HIM as Lord and Savior and second surrendered our life to HIS will.

Judges 7:7-9 - "And the Lord said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place. So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley. And it came to pass the same night, that the Lord said unto him, Arise, get thee down unto the host; for I have delivered it into thine hand."

Psalm 34

Hi All,
I would like to take a break from the "Are you serving on your mission field" posts, and we will come back to those very soon!
Today I would like to share with you a passage of Scripture that the Lord has shown me the past few days, and it is just so full of hope!   The passage is Psalm 34 and if you are not familiar with it, or even if you are, I encourage you to go read through it.  It is not a long chapter, but one that you will find hope in!  There are several things about the chapter that I would like to point out.  I also have a Life Application Bible and this helps so much sometimes bring Application to your daily life.  Look into finding one of these if you do not already own one!
Anyway, the chapter speaks about God delivering us from our fears, troubles, broken hearts.  It reminds us that God is good and that we must trust in HIM! You see, if you want Him to deliver you, you must beleive that He can.  This is something that we as humans are so guilty of...we ask the Lord for something and then do not beleive that He can do it.  This is not good at all...now can God still do what you asked? Yes, but you must beleive!  Verse 14 says; "Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it." In verse 14, we are reminded to get away from evil, do what you know is right, look for peace and make sure you do not give up until you find it.  And where can you find true peace? Only in GOD!   He then tells us again in verse 17 that He is delivering us from all our troubles! Wow! A second time in the same chapter, once in verse 6 and again in verse 17. I love what God says in verse 22...listin to this... "The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in Him shall be desolate."  So He is saying He can redeem you and if you have accepted Him as Savior and confessed that you are a sinner and asked HIM to save you then you are already redeemed! And He says the redeemed that trust Him....will NEVER be desolate which means "guilty." And you trust Him to save you and redeem you so trust Him with your everyday life! We all need to remember to do that! What a great picture of His sweet love for us! I mean He has redeemed us and we are no longer guilty because JESUS paid the price for our sins and took our punishment on Himself! Remember this as you go about your days! You are redeemed by the blood of Jesus! Can I hear an Amen?!

You all have a fantastic weekend and remember to share God's love! And go read Psalm 34 for some awesome encouragement!

Part 2 Serving On Your Mission Field "For Such A Time As This"

Hey all!
I  hope you are all enjoying this beautiful October weather! As I looked out my window this morning I noticed some yellow leaves on the ground and then saw the beautiful leaves on a tree outside turning yellow.  Isn't our GOD so creative?! I mean the leaves change colors and fall off the trees in the fall and don't you just love those pretty fall colors?! The Lord has blessed us so much and sometimes we are so busy that we do not even notice the work God is doing.  Do you get so busy that sometimes you don't even pay attention to what you are supposed to be doing? I know I do...we get so focused on what has to be done here and now that we lose focus on what we are really here to do.  We are here to glorify God with our lives.  He wants us to bring our life like a sacrifice to Him and tell Him that whatever He wants is what we want.  This is very hard and something that we all need to work on.  I think so many times we get focused and think "earthly" when God wants us to think "eternally."  We need to focus on what God wants us to do and not get so tangled and busy in things that really do not matter eternally.  You see, eternally, it really does not matter what job we had or what car we drove or how many friends we had... but it is does matter how much we honored God with our lives and how much time we spent with Him and how many lives we witnessed to, those things do matter.  You see we must not forget that God has us where we are, "for such a time as this."

In Esther 4, we are reminded that God has us where we are in life, "for such a time as this."  What time in your life are you going through right now...whatever it is...God is there.
Esther 4:14- "For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"
